Some very common structures*
TAKEOFF RAMPS
A very common piece of equipment which can be the "starting block" of larger pieces of street course equipment. This item has a curved transition starting on the ground, leading up to a small deck area. The transition curve is the critical element, relating to the height of the ramp as well as the intended use of the ramp.* Some curved ramps are designed for transition to other elements, while other curved
ramps may be solely designed to be free-standing and for maximum "air".* Hot Rails produces sturdy Takeoff Ramps
in several different sizes, all designed for the intended use of each one and matched to other elements if
appropriate. Sizes range from 2' to 4' wide by 1' to 4' high. Prices generally range from $200-$800.
BOXES
A very basic piece of street course equipment which is usually a rectangular shaped box which may vary
in any dimension. It may be equipped with metal edges and/or rails. Boxes average 4' wide by 8' long, 6" to 36"
high and can also be combined with other pieces. Prices generally range from $200-$600.
LANDING RAMPS
Generally used for landing on in conjunction with other pieces , they can also be substituted for
Takeoff Ramps, such as at each end of a Box. Prices generally range from $200-$600.
FLY BOXES
Encompassing the three elements above, this piece may be composed of three pieces pushed together or, built as a single, stronger unitized piece such as HOT RAILS/HOT RAMPS offers. This piece is frequently equipped with rails and/or metal edges.
Sizes vary greatly in height and width. The length will be dictated by the height. Prices generally range
from $1,200-$9,000. Completely portable fly-boxes are available for easy and sturdy site erection.

HIPS
A section of curved ramping, it may be tall & narrow, short & wide, free standing, or even
propped against another piece of equipment. These add to the challenge of a street course and are
always a great addition. Prices generally range from $300-$1,600.
(depending whether free-standing or not)
SPINES
This piece of equipment varies greatly in size but generally consists of two hip-like pieces joined, or pushed
together to create one unit. Spines may even be spaced some distance from each other to create a different character
street course. They may also be equipped with steel edges or pipe coping for additional tricks. Prices generally range
from $500-$3,000. (may be much higher for elaborate "large-area" spine structures)
PYRAMIDS
These free standing pieces vary tremendously in shape and size. The common element is usually three or more
ramps leading to a flat surface. The ramps might be flat or curved, and the flat surface might have a vertical wall
behind it or some other design. The classic pyramid is just like the name, but with a flat deck instead of a point.
Prices generally range from $1,600-$8,000.
QUARTER PIPES
This very basic unit provides the opportunity for advanced skills and assists in gathering more speed and momentum
for tricks on other pieces of equipment. Sizes range from 6' to 12' wide by 4' to 8' high. The transition curve is a critical
element on the quarter pipe. There can be a "deck" at the top of this piece which skaters use to "drop-in" to the
course or just to hang out on. Prices generally range from $600-$4,500.
HALF PIPES
Actually composed of two quarter pipes spaced some distance apart from each other and joined together
by a floor to create a single unit for skating also known as VERT. Vert ramps vary greatly in height and width and some
even have added features such as additional vertical wall for some portion of the structure. Sizes vary from 8' to 30'
or more wide, by 4' to over 15' high. The length of half pipes range from 12' to over 30'. Half pipes have a deck at the
top of each curved side for "dropping-in" or waiting on. Prices generally range from $2,000-$60,000.
NOTES:
There are many other possibilities for action. Pieces may be altered for inline, skateboard, or BMX use. Items which may affect pricing include: Upgraded surfaces such as masonite or steel, metal edges such as angle iron, flat plates, or pipe copings.
Hot Rails/Hot Ramps will attempt to offer every piece of equipment in several configurations. Namely: fully built (off-site or on); frame only (where you build with our framing components but cut and supply all or some of the lumber); or frame plus pre-cut components. Remember that all Hot Rails/Hot Ramps components and/or designs are properly engineered to provide accurate structural integrity.
