Letters from Yesterday

WELL, I COACH A UNDER 10 SOCCER TEAM, AND THIS SUMMER I'M SUPPOSED TO TEACH A CLASS HOW TO SKATE AT THE LOCAL YMCA.

BEING A SOCCER COACH WAS FUN, UNTIL IT STARTED TO SUBTRACT TIME FROM SKATING.

FOR ALL YOU GALS OUT THERE WHO DON'T HAVE JOBS TO BUY RAILS, DON'T LET THAT HOLD YOU BACK, BE CREATIVE - I WAS GRINDING THE SIDES OF STRANGERS' DRIVEWAYS AND FILE CABINETS BEFORE I FINALLY GOT MY OWN RAIL.

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I CAN GIVE ANYONE LEARNING TO SKATE IS JUST TO GO BIG. MY FRIENDS AND I WOULD GO ROLLING UP TO SOME BIG ASS RAIL WE KNEW WE WERE GOING TO CRASH ON, CHANTING OUR PHRASE OF MOTIVATION:

"GOTTA' HAVE BALLS, GOTTA' HAVE BALLS!" BUT EVENTUALLY WE DID GET THAT RAIL (AFTER A FEW BROKEN FINGERS, CUTS, BRUISES, ECT...) BUT HEY THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO IS FALL -

Hi! I'd like to send some pictures but I need a scanner, or digital camera. My dad's got one at his work, but I don't know if I'll be able to use it.

I went to America in the summer holidays, and I went to this skate shop which sold clothes for guys and girls, and I saw this real cool Porn Star dress, but I didn't have enough money to get it. So I got myself some Cargo Pants and some mens Jnco jeans which are real baggy!
I also got my new blades there too which were cheap! ($69) Over here in England, they would have cost about £180, but I got them for £40!
They are Roces Amsterdams, (the old ones with the aero-light chassis), I really wanted a pair of agressives like Roces Streets, but I don't have anywhere to practice anyway.
Do you have a favourite girl skater? I'm not sure at the moment, but Jenny Logue is pretty good. In my neighbourhood, all the skaters are guys, but I was the one who taught them all the moves!

Hai there , now I remember you so you are skaters right and you want to know about skaters here.
Well here there is no special place for the skaters to play skate so they have to play beside the streets and it will cause them to chase by the cops.
Here there a megazine about them (skaters in Malaysia) but the zine is not the registered one. It is like the black market zine.
I hope you understand my English because in my country my first language is not English.

Hi! Thanks for replying to my e-mail. Apart from skating, I like rap music. Groups like Luniz, Skee-Lo, Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs 'n' Harmony and Naughty By Nature. I like soccer, and I support Manchester United. I like shopping for clothes and I love discos!
I tried writing a letter to the government about the shortage of skateparks, but I never got a reply. We don't have one skate park in our area, which is a bummer.

This is Ashley Anderson again. I think it is really cool that there is a guy that is actually interested in getting more stuff about girls and "ROLLERBLADING"!!
A lot of guys are all conceded and stuff they think just because girls are girls they can't do anything. But you know what I think you are pretty cool.
I really don't have any hot picks on clothes or anything but I can tell you what girls like and what's going to be in this year.
1.) The hotest pants this year is cargo camoflauge. How ever you spell it. Girls are really starting to get into The "guy" Jnco thing, I think there should be more Jnco's made for girls like baggy and stuff. Baggy is really really cool!! well see ya,

Hey what up? i'm a 15 year old girl and i aggressive skate all day. i'm not on a team but i skate in minneapolis cuz there's a whole lot of rails and wierd stuff to skate on.

You guy's are a kick ass company. I am a female skater, and I really don't feel like spending a whole lot of time making rails (and since there's nowhere to skate here I have to have my own) I'm glad I can order yours. I haven't yet but I plan on it. As soon as I get paid, that is.

What's up! Thanks for responding to my e-mail.
I'm 13 years old. I'm from Plainfield, New Jersey and have been skating for about 10 months. I have the Oxygen Argin 3.1's and blackhole grind plates. In the future I hope to see more girl skaters.
Where I'm from, there aren't that many - but these days you never can tell. I love skating and i sure do plan to get better, but while I'm doing that - I'll just be having fun!!

I'd just like to say that your web page is grooovey! I'd like to get into agressive skating but where I live, (Worcestershire, England) there aren't any skate parks around. Respect to all the girl skaters, and I hope there be more in the future.

Hey! I haven't visited Hot Rails in awhile so I decided to today. So I open the page and there's a sweet new girl page up! Yaaa!
So I am now writing to you. I'm 15 and an aggressive inline skater. My name is Kristen, Teddy online, and Skrimp (don't ask) to my buddies. I ride on K2 Fatties and they kick! I have them anti-rockered with Dawn Evertt plates my friend Shawn gave me.
I also have these great purple laces on them. Anyways skate hard, girls rule, and I'll send a pic once I get a scanner.

I've been skating aggressive for about two years now. It's an awesome sport! Unfortunately I haven't been able to skate lately seeing as one of my frames snapped in half.
I'm still going to the 5th stop at NISS to watch, but not to compete. So hopefully I'll be jumpin' the Hot Rails next year at NISS 98, if I save up enough cash by then!
