Gives up the skinny on who's goin' to NISS New York Finals!

xxx

The cool part of an indoor competition is that ya don't have ta worry 'bout the weather!

That was a good thing 'cause it was "hotter than a ^$&%#" that day in AC - but the aircon was on inside and everyone was ready - that last qualifying round before the East Coast Finals next week.

xxx Going into the final qualifying street round was a skate off for position 16 between Kyle Sherman and Gil Vasquez. Both skaters performed flawless runs on a Professional level!

I was real glad that I wasn't doin' the judge thing . . .

Kyle earned the spot.

All the guys were there - Marc Billic on the walky talky - Daryl Hardin is now shotting footage for FOX Sports TV - and Legend Brian Smith, still Rules at the age of 29!

Girls Vert went down first. Jessie McCave took first, Michelle Scott from Ontario, Canada - Second, and Amanda Pennachini took third.

  1. - Jason Shenk
  2. - Joe Ackler
  3. - Ed Veiseh
  4. - Tyler Shields

Moving over to Street, the ladies comp was real tight.

Daisy Doyle missed the first round because of illness. She came back to try for the finals but was too weak to catch up to Jessie McCave's flawless run. Jessie took 1st, Kelly Mathews second, and Rene Ugis took third.

The finals for the Mens Street was a close as it gets.

Both Robert and Jose Disla were there along with Jeff Larretto, Ray Mendez, Jon Ortiz, and Franky Moralez all the way from Miami FL.

Brian Smith - Eagle slide With tensions extreme, only 2 Skaters left to go, Brian Smith on deck - at exactly 4:30pm - without warning - all the lights in the building went off with a bang!

Everyone froze!

Slowly the lights began to warm up again - appologies for a computor screw up . .typical . .

Brian began his run - major style - deffinitely a close call - just as he finished - Sick - bells started ringing - lights started flashing - We thought it was in celebration - NOT - some brain surgeon hit the fire alarm...

We all held our breath hoping they'ed hit the off button before the sprinklers went off and flooded the course just in time for Nicky's final run.

Nicy Adams perfect!! We all lucked out and 14 year old Nicky Adams blew everyone away and took 1st place. Brian Smith had a solid second, Maxie Broome - 3rd, and 17 year old Steve Gordon from Baltimore, MD took 4th with mega smooth moves.
